Church Life

propheticheader

According to 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10, God has given nine spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit to the Church. Here at Full Gospel Christian Center we believe that a Christian who has been filled with the Holy Spirit can operate in any one of these gifts, according to the grace that is given to them (Romans 12:4-8). One of these gifts is the gift of prophecy. The gift of prophecy has three specific functions. They are to speak edification, exhortation and comfort to men (1 Corinthians 14:3). It is the heart of Full Gospel Christian Center, to see believers equipped and laying hold of all that God has for them. Therefore we offer personal prophetic ministry to the Body of Christ.

Our intentions are to speak words of confirmation that can assist a person in discovering God’s will for their life. Prophetic ministry does not relieve a person of their responsibility in hearing God’s voice for themselves; it is only geared to help. When a person begins to minister prophetically without any prior knowledge of the situations someone may be facing in life and the words they speak are very personal and accurate, we gain a new sense of God’s reality and our faith arises. Our prophetic ministers are mature believers who are in close accountability with the Church. We consider it an honor to prophesy and hold this ministry in a very high place of value. After all, it is, the only ministry the Bible tells Christians to covet.

We have some guidelines which we encourage all to follow once they have received personal prophetic ministry. Record, read and meditate on your personal prophecies.(Dr. Bill Hamon) We encourage all who attend this ministry to write their prophetic words on paper, word for word and then read them through several times. This will help to really understand all that was said during their time of ministry. Prophetic words are full of ifs ands and buts and we find these details to be very significant in whether or not a prophetic word will actually be fulfilled. We then ask all to meditate and pray over their words with great diligence (1 Tim 4:14-15). We have come to learn that the first interpretation of a prophecy is not always its true application. One should never apply an unspecific prophecy to a specific situation. Many have done this only to deceive themselves and wind up in a place of confusion. Earnestly seeking the Lord and being very patient will be of great help while waiting for a prophetic word to come to pass. 2 Corinthians 13:1 says the truth is established by two or three witnesses, thus no one should move on a prophetic word unless it has been spoken at least two or three times. Once the prophecy has been written out and prayed through it can then be compared with other words a person may have received and they can begin to see how it may apply to their life. It is our prayer that any prophetic word released from Full Gospel Christian Center, will bless the Body of Christ and honor the Lord. May God bless you as you seek His perfect plan for your life!!

Please Note: As of January 21, 2007, the Prophetic Ministry offered on Friday Evenings is now in a season of rest until further notice.
